Huntsville Swing Dance Society

Well, I took the day off today and spent it bringing back up the HSDS website. For those who didn't read the temporary message, we had a significant hardware failure on the main server and are now running on a back-up server.

The website crashing however has not effected our ability to host kickin dances! We have The Dean Martinis this Saturday at the Flying Monkey Arts Center. We will be hosting a Beginner Lesson from 7-8 followed by the band from 8pm - 11pm. This is our first band dance of the year and the first at the monkey so come on out! We've had two months of beginner lessons. This is your chance to dance socially with the HSDS crowd if your a new dancer or your chance to meet the new people if your a regular. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

I've really only accomplished reinstalling the software that makes HSDS run, (and only part of it at that). However, there is enough to create the web page. I've brought back up the calendar though, (obviously), not with all the content it was previously populated with. I'm still working on bringing back up the board member group area. Unfortunately, the majority of the mailing list was stored on the main server and so we will be lucky to recover the HSDS mailing list for quite some time.

Update: I've been testing the drives in the array and I've gotten a small bit of positive results. Tomorrow I'll do more poking and hopefully isolate the bad drive.
